A true holiday feeling in the Campine
A typical closed up and dark wooden cottage in the forests in the Campine has been transformed into a pleasant, open and vivacious living and working space. The biggest change made was removing the full stone façade under the gable roof, replacing it with a beautiful large glass façade. This allows daylight and nature to enter the house in abundance. All vertical elements in the space were made white, which lifts the wooden roof upwards and makes the duplex area look more spacious.
Respecting the original
We made a deliberate decision to maintain the typical elements, such as the woodcarving on the railing, the round arches above windows and doors, and the vast wooden roof. In addition, the space has been upgraded with custom-made furniture and the use of matching warm materials and colors. The large print at the table in the open family kitchen is a little hint to the Alps.
